Dec. 2006; Formation of Shibaura Deutschland GmbH
Formation of Shibaura Deutschland GmbH
‘Shibaura Europe B.V. stellt die Weichen für die Zukunft in Deutschland'.
The last few years, the Shibaura sales figures in Germany have risen strongly, a good reason to further extend our operation. On the first of December, Shibaura Europe B.V. founded Shibaura Deutschland GmbH. Shibaura Deutschland GmbH purchased a business site in Wiehl. Here, they will build their commercial premises with a floor area of 1500 m2, consisting of:
- office space 150 m2
- showroom 50 m2
- parts warehouse 300 m2
- workshop 200 m2
- storage of complete goods + demonstration machines 700 m2.
According to the planning, Shibaura Deutschland should be operational in September 2007. The site will have a central location in Germany, i.e. where the A4 (Cologne-Olpe) and the A45 (Sauerland route) meet. At about 2 km from the connection to the motorway, on a visible location at a busy roundabout where the L336 and L339 meet.
Wendy Broekstra-Franken (B Sc) was appointed as managing director. Sales manager is Werner Schmelz, who has been building the dealer organization since 1998. At the start 3 extra employees are hired, one for technical support, one for the sales of complete products and one for the sales of parts. The dealers and their employees will be trained and supported in their technical and sales capabilities. Furthermore, demonstrations and a quick delivery of parts will be the core points of the company's operation.
Founding Deutschland GmbH and carrying new products, like the SX24 subcompact tractor and the five-unit reel mower SR525, will strongly promote the extension of the Shibaura dealer organization and - through that - our sales in Germany.
Worldwide, Shibaura is one of the most important suppliers of garden and park machines, diesel garden and lawn tractors, professional front mowers, compact tractors for summer and winter use, all equipped with Shibaura diesel engines.
